In a 6-3 decision today, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that consumers will continue to have the ability to qualify for health care subsidies based on income, whether through a federal or state exchange. The ruling in King v. Burwell upholds a challenge to the Affordable Care Act that could have erased premium tax-credits and cost-sharing subsidies in the 34 states that operate federally facilitated marketplaces.
